It's so bad it's good! |
I seriously wish I had the bravery to pull this off, and I did try, but I think several of my friends and family might have killed me if I had left the house looking like this! So what would I use this shirt for? I hear you holla, well fancy dress seems an obvious choice, this would get all the attention on a night out and with so many themed nights at university it would be great one to have stashed away. However, I decided that there was only one person I know who could pull this off, Jon, he's like my adopted brother and since he turned 30 this week he became my unsuspecting test subject. So at his surprise party he became the proud owner of the shirt. He definitely pulls it off better than me!
I have to say the reaction in the pub was brilliant, everyone wanted to know where to get one, for stag dos, holidays and there was even talk of wearing one to a wedding!
The quality of the shirt was impressive, honestly, I wasn't expecting amazing quality. I thought the gimmick was bright and tacky clashing colours but it's actually a very well put together shirt, the buttons down the front and the cuffs are all different colours and really add to the shirt, the attention to detail is really quite impressive. The only small niggle I had with this shirt was that I wasn't a fan of the material used for the left sleeve, it just felt a little uncomfortable, maybe because it was a different fabric to the rest. The great thing about Gnat is that no two of these shirts are the same, meaning that you're never going to turn up to a party and find someone wearing the same outfit as you!
Now for anyone still wanting one of these shirts they can be purchased online at www.gnat.co.uk. The style featured here retails at £23.99 which is the cheapest of the three styles offered, and for the quality of the shirt and the smiles it brings to everyone's faces I think it's reasonable, I can't comment on the quality of the others, but the prices are a little steep for me personally. They also offer a range of bow ties which can be worn with the shirts for that extra bit of clashing or on their own to add a bit of extra colour to an outfit.
I really enjoyed this shirt, it's not often that an item of clothing is such a focal point of conversation in a pub, but yesterday it's all anyone could talk about, it genuinely put a smile on my face and for that this shirt gets a thumbs up from me!
So what do you all think? Is it so bad it's good or is it just plain bad?
Keep it Scrimpy,
Laura

I guess this is okay if you like being the centre of attention but personally this isn't for me!
