The cottage itself was beautiful, so well presented, I'd have happily stayed for longer, you felt right at home the moment you stepped through the door. The underfloor heating downstairs was a real treat that felt great every morning!

My personal favorite thing about the cottage has to be the log fire though, I just love the smell of a log fire, we toasted marshmallows and roasted chestnuts, which was a first for both of us, they take a heck of a lot of peeling but are defiantly worth it! Although a close second has to be that king size bed! At uni I have a small double and Richard only has a single so this was a nice change! Cue both of us star-fishing!
I loved the fact that we had time to actually sit down and eat together. At uni there usually aren't too many opportunities to sit down together an enjoy a meal, as of late we've been eating a lot in our Geography building between work sessions so it was nice to spend a couple of nights eating good food and actually talking to each other. Since I don't drink rather than a couple of bottles of wine we splashed out on some M&S non-alcoholic drinks, and fancy cordials, the Normandy spiced apple from M&S is amazing and a great alternative for non-drinkers or just anyone who fancies a change.
The spa was another great point about this place, a hot tub and sauna was available for us to use and I think in high seasons there are options to have various treatments for an extra cost. We made full use of the hot tub but Richard found the sauna a little too warm!
Over all we had an awesome break, we're back now and both feeling much more refreshed and ready to power through the rest of our work until Christmas. If anyone wants to check out where we stayed or fancy booking yourself a cheeky break you can find our beautiful cottage here and the owners a really lovely people, we would 100% recommend this for a break.
Where do you head to for an escape from life?
