Flashgap - The Hangover inspired photo app*

So a few weeks ago I was introduced to a new app called Flashgap. Basically, as a group you take photos, they disappear into nothingness then at noon the next day, all hell is unleashed when the groups photos are released in one super awesome album.

The first time we used it was at the GeogSoc's summer ball, between the five of us we took 111 photos and we really enjoyed it, the photos walked us through the night, from getting ready to the next mornings hangovers. We all had a good laugh at the album and we found that we could upload the whole thing, or a select few, straight to Facebook pretty easily.

The second time was for Jane's birthday, we took less photos although they still showed the night, from cake to club very well. The cake was an awesome minion cake made by Chris.

Finally was at our summer ball. I'm afraid it went a little down hill this time, most of us just went back to taking photos without the app or snapchatting people during everyone's highlight of the evening, scouting for girls! Who were totally amazing!

The app takes inspiration from the Hangover films giving you the opportunity to fill those gaps left blurry by alcohol which I think is a great idea, however, as much as we loved using it we did come across a few issues mainly when you are slightly drunk shouting to someone to check their gashflap isn't the best thing to do. And having the option to save the photo to your phone when you take it would be useful for sharing to other platforms like Instagram, although I suppose this kind of defeats the point of the app.

Overall, I like the app, it just takes a little getting used to. It's a great idea for students. I feel it really works best with a group of friends but I would like to see what happens when a club or society created a mega album of a pub golf night!

Will you be trying Flashgap?

Keep it Scrimpy,
Laura.

*I was not paid or compensated in any way to post this article, the lovely people at FlashGap told me about their app and I tried it out.
